Having great sponsors and exhibitors can create good revenue stream opportunities for your association. However, if those sponsors and exhibitors don’t see the ROI, they may not attend.  A reverse trade show can help to increase that ROI

Maybe you need a different type of trade show.

How does a reverse trade show work?

Traditional trade shows have the exhibitor at a booth and the attendees stop by if they have an interest in the product or service.

Reverse trade shows flip this on its head.  Think speed dating.  The attendee that is interested or incentivized to participate now sits at the table.  The exhibitor/sponsor visits the attendee and will have paid a premium fee to participate and to some extent is allowed to select which attendee they would like to meet with.  Each appointment can last 5 to 10 minutes depending on how many participants and its structure.

Why do exhibitor/sponsors and participants like a reverse trade show?

Exhibitor/Sponsor. This is a great way to allow exhibitors to engage with their target audience in one-on-one appointments.  This will create several interesting intersections for ROI.  The exhibitors will be able to justify the cost of attending by being able to target their appointments and provide customized presentations for each appointment.

Attendee.  Time is valuable.  This concept allows the attendee the opportunity to meet an industry expert in their respective field and gain valuable insight into that specific niche.

What are the benefits of a reverse trade show?
